google earth（google地球）简介
Google earth（google地球）是最大的搜索引擎google提供的全球主要城市卫星地图搜索服务，通过google earth可以方便地查看各个街道、大厦的三维图形。当下载安装google earth程序之后，只要在搜索框输入城市的名字，就可以出现该城市的卫星地图，并根据需要进行放大、缩小、定位等操作。
google earth与google map（google地图）并不是一回事，google earth是基于google卫星地图搜索，而google地图则与一般的地图搜索网站（或者搜索引擎的地图搜索服务）类似，是基于城市平面图位置的搜索。
Google Earth下载地址：http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html （目前Google Earth尚未推出中文版，现有英文、荷兰语、法语等版本）。运行Google Earth软件需要256M内存，1G以上CPU等基本配置。
